In a Cinch

Cinched-in waist, your favorite broken-in jeans, a pencil skirt, and flowy tops...the look is casual yet put together. Ruffles, a fun necklace, and a popped collar all pull the eyes up and balance the look.

Stripes on a Diagonal

Playing around with different looks for this tank top. I have always thought that it was cute, but I hardly ever wear it. I paired it with denim and a long black cardigan & a white skirt and denim jacket. I also put it under a white shirt and paired with a grey pencil skirt. This tank would be cute with wide-leg khaki's...Any suggestions on how else I could wear this tank?

2nd Attempt @ Baguettes

These came out better; although, they still did not rise as much as I thought they should. The problem was that the starter wasn't very active. Well the starter is now over 1 week old and looking active so tonight I am going to try baking a round sourdough loaf. Hopefully all goes well!

Crochet Top Three Ways

Here is a fun summer crochet top that I used to create three different outfits. 1) The top is paired with skinny jeans, gold sandals, wooden beads & an owl necklace. 2) Pair with wide-leg jeans & a khaki belt. 3) Tuck the shirt in a khaki pencil skirt add a wide leather belt, and wedge sandals. The jacket is optional and would work with all three looks.

Baguettes

Okay, I am going to journal my bread baking experiment. I have created two starters a yeast & a sourdough. I baked baguettes from the yeast starter yesterday. The baguettes came out great. Well the flavor & texture was delicious, but the loaves lacked volume. I am going to try again on Thursday. This time I added half wheat flour and 1/4 tsp. more yeast to the sponge. So far, it looks perfect...We will see how they bake up. I will try sourdough bread on Saturday. I have posted more pictures under the food tab. Please feel free to leave comments or recommendations! :)

Flowy Cardi & A Good Pair of Jeans

I am so loving this long flowy cardi. It is perfect to wear after you have been in the sun all day--add a good pair of jeans and you are set for the evening! Throw on a a cowl neck tank & a wide belt for a different look. I think pairing this cardigan with a print would be nice too...

Sunny Days Ahead

Me playing in my closet. Future forecast...sunny days ahead, lounging by the pool, teaching Piero how to swim, fresh summer salsa, & patio parties. We love to entertain--having lots of people in our home, great food, & (of course) the opportunity to dress up! I am playing around with different ways to take pictures of my outfits--the pics are kind of all over the place. I will figure it out sooner or later! I may even start modeling them myself...we will see.

Feelin' Sporty?

Okay, I know that this combo is a bit unusual, but it works. If you like heels (like me) or are feeling especially girly wear the heels and "sport" the look. If not, you can always throw on some cute sandals to run errands or go to lunch in something that is both comfortable & unexpected.

Hot Colors & a Polka Dot Skirt

I love the bright colors in this outfit...something about it just reminds me a comic book...in a good way. This would be great to wear on a day that you need a little lift. I don't know about you, but bright colors definitely pick me up.
